A Diamond Jubilee Capital Campaign

Our Campaign:  Vital Medical Enhancement - $2.5 million

As part of a five-year, $39.8 million capital project that will impact care in every department, St. Bernardine Medical Center Foundation has agreed to assume responsibility for raising $2.5 million of the $8.6 million cost of a new 14-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).  This new facility will be separate from the Ballard Center for Advanced Care, and will, in fact, allow the Ballard Center to be rededicated exclusively for cardiac intensive care patients.  The new NICU will be located near the Ballard Cardiac Care Center and is projected to open in fiscal year 2006-2007.

A Diamond Jubilee Capital Campaign

Our Campaign:  Convent Conversion / Chapel Modernization - $2.5 million

Now that our campus-based Sisters are comfortably relocated, the Foundation seeks also to raise $2.5 million to preserve and restore St. Bernardine's historic convent and chapel.  The renovation and refurbishment will allow for their use as a conference/retreat/meeting center for a variety of hospital and community groups and organizations.

The chapel portion of the project will return the chapel, sanctuary and choir balcony to their former splendor, while simultaneously incorporating the latest audio-visual systems and seating design.  This will allow the facility to be used both for religious purposes and business presentations.
